Get to know Mr. Beatty
My name is Joey Beatty, and I love teaching English!
Like my students, I grew up in our local community and went through school in our local school system. I attended both Schnell and Sierra elementary schools, Markham middle school, and El Dorado high school, all in Placerville. I earned my BA in English from CSU Sacramento, and went on to earn my teaching credential and MA in Education from UC Davis' School of Education.
When I'm not teaching, I have lots and lots of hobbies. Above all, I love spending time with my daughter, Scout. I love music (listening and playing), hiking/backpacking and camping, reading & writing, watching movies and tv shows, playing video games, traveling, skateboarding, and spending time with my family and friends. My favorite author is Cormac McCarthy, favorite movie is Princess Mononoke, favorite tv show is Stranger Things, favorite musician is Elliott Smith, and favorite place in the whole world is Desolation Wilderness.
